Aston Villa are close to agreeing a new contract with striker Morgan Rogers. Who will play a more active role in Unai Emery’s side for the 2024-25 season football.
Football Insider reports that Aston Villa are keen to tie Rogers down to a new deal. And are unlikely to face any difficulties in negotiating terms with the 22-year-old’s representatives. Rogers moved from Middlesbrough to join Aston Villa in the winter transfer market or mid-season 2023-24. Scoring 3 goals and 1 assist in 16 games in all competitions. His current deal, the first since his move from Middlesbrough, runs to Villa Park until 2029 and the new deal will be extend.
Rogers is hoping his good form and regular playing time will earn him a first senior England call-up in November from caretaker manager Lee Carsley. With the squad to be announced in the coming days before new manager Thomas Tuchel takes over in 2025.
The 22-year-old join the club on deadline day in February 2024 from Championship side Middlesbrough. And has gone on to make 31 appearances in all competitions under Unai Emery.
